ATTENTION
Some of the pictures and stories shown on the following pages may be disturbing. In many of these cases, the stories are tragic. People have been seriously injured and in some instances, killed. Those involved frequently have suffered very significant, sometimes permanent injuries. The patients, their families, and their friends have all suffered
as a result of these events.
We often receive calls from patients or their families asking us about what happened during an incident. The following photos and stories are provided, similar to a newspaper account, for educational and informational purposes. It is our hope that through education, tragic incidents such as these can be prevented.
Every Mount Storm Volunteer Fire Department member that responded to these calls send their thoughts and condolences to everyone touched by these incidents.

Chimney Fire 150's First Due

On 1-27-2010 at 0255 Hrs The Mt Storm Volunteer Fire Company responded to Route 42 in Mt Storm for a chimney fire in a single family residence. Engine 150, Engine Tanker 130, and Mathias Baker BLS 4471 responded to the scene. Fire crews extinguished the fire then checked for extension and cleaned the flu. Crews remained on scene for approximately 1.5 hrs.

Station 150 Alerted for The Mutual Assist

On 1-07-2010 around 1130 Hrs The Mt Storm Volunteer Fire Company tones were alerted for the mutual aid to the Maysville Volunteer Fire Comany (200) for the Chimney fire near Jordan Run Road. Engine Tanker 150 responded. Other Companies units that responded were: Engine 200, Tanker 200, BLS 200, Ambulance 200 (Maysville VFD), Engine 495, Utility 490 (Petersburg VFD) and the Mathias Baker EMS.

Commercial Structure Fire

On 1-06-2010 around 0300 Hrs The Mt Storm Volunteer Fire Company tones were alerted for a Commercial Structure fire at the Gormania Gas N Go in Gormania. Gorman Volunteer Fire Company 120 was the first on the scene reporting a working structure fire. Crews initially made entry to attack the fire but had to back out due to fear of structural collapse. Crews were hampered by freezing temperatures and a lack of water supply. The Gormania Gas-N-Go is located in Gormania near the intersection of RT 50 and RT 90 at the WV/MD State Line.
Other Companies that responded were:
From West Virginia:
Bayard VFD, Maysville VFD, Elk District VFD, Aurora VFD, Mt. Grove VFD, Mathias Baker Rescue
From Maryland:
Gorman VFD, Oakland VFD, Deer Park VFD, Air 3 from Garrett Co.
Petersburg VFD responded to Station 150 for a Standby.
This Fire is under investigation by the WV State Fire Marshal and the WV State Police.
